Union and strength
The cooperative work is an instrument of economical organization of the society, created in the XIX century, being characterized by mutual help throughout the partnership and kindness.
The president of Republic, Dr. Afonso Pena and his agriculture minister, decided to encourage the creation of cooperative societies looking for some skilled managers in Italy to start the movement.
The cooperative work became a necessary and irreplaceable practice. In order to get its strengthening it is important to have the interchange of information.
The cooperative society is an autonomous association of united people as volunteers to satisfy their economical, social and cultural necessities in common, through a company of joint propriety and democratic management.
The movement that started with such a great strength and seemed to involve the entire region has vanished.
However, in order to understand deeply the historical development of the cooperative work in Brazil, it is necessary to do it in bits, it means, kinds of cooperatives, because each one has had its own history, with difficulties and distinct success, depending on, often, the facilities and obstacles offered by the Government.
