After the crisis which happened and influenced the wine culture since 1964, in 1973 Vinícola Garibaldi became again prestigious in market, maintaining excellent level of its products trade. In that expansion phase, the company could buy enough machines to produce 8,000 bottles an hour, only in one production line.
Cooperativa Garibaldi, with its co-sisters, founded the Federação das Cooperativas de Vinho do Rio Grande do Sul, whose first aim, more than having the class representation, would be to install a modern bottling process in the principal consumer area of the country: São Paulo. In this way, each time more the benefits of the company were coming up involving the central canteen and bottling processes departments in the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Some years later, the Cooperative got the trust of the agricultures, making the production arises in an expressive way. However, in reality, it has always been the produced wine quality which was the cause of the recognition of the national name that the company is proud of having until now. Today, Cooperativa Garibaldi keeps being outstanding as one of the biggest companies of the sector.
Just in 2007, the wine company sold more than 820 thousand sparkling wine bottles. This number may be increased in 15% this year. The company has been investing strongly in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and in the north-east to overcome this aim. The products accumulate medals in different contests in Brazil and in other countries. One of the most important contests was won last year, in which Garibaldi Muscat Sparkling Wine got the golden medal in that which is the best contest in the world concerning sparkling wine, Effervescents du Monde, placed in France. With the prize, the company bets in the growing consume of sparkling wine, maintaining its position among the principal winegrowing companies of the country.
